Grilled Cheese and Tomato in a Pre-Panini World

Sliced up one of the tomatoes in the garden bounty basket featured yesterday for this sandwich. I like to brown both sides of the buttered bread before adding cheese, and Kraft singles melt the easiest for quick meals. Earlier this year, we went to the Carnegie Deli in Las Vegas and my step-mother ordered a grilled cheese with tomato sandwich, which I had never thought to make until that day.

Thank you for the idea. We currently have a truckload of tomatoes in our garden, so this is a great and delicious way to eat them.
