Organic Brown Box Delivery

A peek inside my organic Brown Box delivery Tuesday. I'm having a salad for dinner tonight. See that yellow thing? I thought it might be a pear. Although it's shaped like a potato, it didn't feel like one. My daughter was the brave one who took a bite and she said it was awful and threw it away. It might have been a small papaya? It was very soft and squishy.

The yellow thing has the shape of a mango (although they are more often green with a reddish accent).

I would never have seen this post if it hadn't accidentally landed in Boise Daily Photo for a split second. But I got a chuckle from someone living in Idaho thinking a papaya was a potato. I thought you guys knew everything there was to know about potatoes.

Hey Wayne, if it's kinda brown and potato shaped, we assume it's a potato here in tater land!

The unknown fruit is a mango. It is called Ataulfo by the growers but often referred to as the Manilla mango. It is considered the sweetest and most succulent of the mango varieties. It becomes sweeter and softer as it ripens. When ripe the skin will appear slightly wrinked.
FYI. Brown Box Organics has a 100% guarentee. If you are ever unhappy with any item just let us know and we will be happy to replace it in your next order or give you a credit.
We are also happy to e-mail you preperation tips and recipes if you need some inspiration or receive an item you are unfamiliar with.
Thanks for the post!
