Homemade General Tso's Chicken

This is a test run of the recipe by my husband. Very good, but a few more adjustments are needed before I share the details. Yummy experiment, though.

Wonton Soup

One of my kiddos favorites: wonton soup. And don't add any fancy stuff, just wontons and chicken broth for her. We're fortunate to have friends who own several Chinese restaurants who keep us supplied with handmade wontons. They freeze well.

Chinese Food Take-Out

Sometimes, I crave Americanized Chinese take-out. This is from Mandarin Palace in Boise, which is owned by friends of ours. Shrimp, fried rice and Mandarin chicken.

Chinese Food Favorite

We hit up our favorite Chinese food take-out this past week - Mandarin Palace. I know some foodies take issue with "American style" Chinese food like this and phooey on them. Mandarin Palace is at Orchard and Franklin. The owners are friends and neighbors of ours now, but when Mandarin Palace first became my favorite, I didn't know them personally.
